As we enter the new biennium and our season of philanthropy and connection through Founder's Day, Day of Giving, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Making Strides Walks and more, let's remember to live the words of our founder, Alice Bland Coleman, when she shared:
Treasure your heritage in ZTA, dear Zetas. You have made it-it is yours. Keep it alive and beautiful by your words, deeds and thoughts, and may it be a blessing, not only to you, but to all those whols lives touch yours, thus widening its influence to 'Seek the Noblest' and seeking, find it.
Most of the changes for our Crown Chapter requirements are centered around Programming! For the majority of our district, these are things we are already doing! Hooray! Now we can continue to note them with intentionality when we report our to IO and share with our chapters. You can access a copy of the criteria here. Note the changes in pink below:
Sponsor a minimum of two activities per year to increase the public’s awareness of our goals and purposes, and to build a favorable attitude toward Zeta Tau Alpha. These activities could be in one or more of the following areas: leadership, service, community project, etc.
Offer more than five relevant and coordinated chapter programming events.
Offer at least one inclusion program during the biennium (My Sister, My Responsibility® workshop, partnered program with a collegiate chapter, community/campus partnership, member expert presentation, etc.)
Host or attend a Founders' Day gathering (with a nearby collegiate chapter, if applicable)
Meet/exceed all requirements of a chapter or association as listed in the General Manual.
Maintain cooperative and regular contact with the Alumnae National Officer.
Exhibit a positive attitude of cooperation with the Fraternity and staff.
Submit complete, accurate and timely reports, including chapter bylaws and chapter activities.
Abide by all policies of the Fraternity as stated in the General Manual, Constitution & Bylaws of Zeta Tau Alpha and updates as distributed by International Office.
Assist with Zeta Day when hosted in the area and provide support with attendance and publicity.
In addition to meeting the 15-member requirement, the group will focus on retention and maintain or increase membership over the biennium.
Maintain active membership and representation in the local alumnae Panhellenic.
Host two alumnae recruitment events each year (four total in the biennium).
Meet all financial responsibilities to the Fraternity by May 1.
Contribute to the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation with a significant gift at or above $300 for each year of the biennium or $600 or more in one year of the biennium.
When there is a local collegiate chapter:
Provide a functioning and cooperative Advisory Board.
Provide assistance with membership recruitment and other collegiate activities.
Hold a minimum of three alumnae-collegiate activities per year.
Actively promote Zeta Tau Alpha and the sorority experience by supporting and assisting collegiate chapters and/or Panhellenic associations in marketing and public relations.
Host an Alumnae Initiation Service for collegiate seniors
When there is not a local collegiate chapter:
Support a collegiate chapter through gifts, notes and visits.
Provide a minimum of one alumnae-collegiate activity with a collegiate chapter or with local collegiate members and/or their mothers or parents.
Actively promote Zeta Tau Alpha and the sorority experience by supporting and assisting collegiate chapters and/or Panhellenic associations in marketing and public relations.

President:
Certificate of Merit nominations are due October 1 - I need these nominations by the morning of the 1st, as I have to review and send the same day now as my deadline changed!
VP Finance:
Continue charging dues to interested members and track those who paid.
Send reminders to sisters who haven't paid their invoice within 2 weeks!
Collaborate on your chapter budget for the year or the biennium with EC and share with Laura.
VP Membership:
Consider setting a challenge to your membership and EC to reach out to 5 members during the month of October as a reminder of our philanthropic efforts, Founder's Day, and Day of Giving to reconnect!

VP Communication:
Finalize chapter bylaw edits, send for approval to EC and follow up with a membership vote to approve any changes.
Take photos throughout events to post on social media channels, send in newsletters, and submit to the Fraternity.
VP Programming:
Plan your Founder's Day event with your local collegiate chapter, or reach out to the chapter to ask to join their event or vis versa!
Provide updates to events for the chapter, pump up and share excitement for upcoming events!
Record information about chapter events on the program tracking spreadsheet - ZetaBase will eventually have a location for you to record events!
VP Philanthropy & Service/Making Strides Walk Chairs:
Create a volunteer sign up sheet for the alumnae chapter members to join in supporting the Survior/Thrivor's tent at MSABC!
Reach out to local colelgiate chapters for volunteers at your MSABC walks in addition to
